“My father told me growing up ‘I love your mom more than I love you. We only have 18 years with you guys I and and I am going to be with your mom a lot longer than that.’ It is important for my kids to see me doing something I love.”

“My dad and grandfather were big influences on me. My brother was a special needs kid and we moved five doors down from my grandparents so they could help. My grandfather was a surgeon, but he was into taxidermy and would be working on ducks and fish when went over to their house every night. My dad went into the hospital last January, a month later we played a sold-out show at the Ryman. My dad was there and it deeply colored that night. The Ryman is not just famous venue, but it is a personal venue for us. My first date with my wife was there and I have seen 35 shows there. I walked on stage and just tried to be in the moment. My friend Bear from the band needtobreathe whispered in my ear after the show, ‘It is all down hill from here’.”

Sounds like a great idea! And let’s have Lynn read that piece she just posted before they
perform . . . of course, she might have to add a footnote that playing at the Steeple isn’t
“downhill”, although I LOVED that comment!
